The inability to find the data you need slows the research progress and can make it impossible to replicate published research.
Reasons for not Sharing
Most of the time data is not available, it’s because it just takes too much time. There are so many things to do and consider when sharing the data.
What’s the solution?
The Raytheon-Visual Analytics Data Clarity Search is the industry’s best solution for Federated Search and Information Sharing. Utilizing the same technology that power today’s internet search engines, the Data Clarity Search tool can search thousands of databases, documents, spreadsheets, news feeds, presentations, websites, and just about any type of electronic media you can think of, in seconds. If you can access it, Data Clarity Search can search it and nobody has to change the software they’re currently using to input and store data.

Sharing Data with Data Clarity Search
Data Clarity Search allows you to retain complete control over your data. You can decide how much data each user can access to ensure compliance with privacy act and HIPAA regulations.
Multi-Tiered Sharing gives you the control you need. Once data is connected to Data Clarity Search, you set up “views” of the data (or subsets of the data), and each view has its own permissions.
Searching Data with Data Clarity Search
Searching data has never been easier. Once connected to the data sources, you can search all of them or specific sources.
Fuzzy and Phonetic Searches allow you to find misspelled words.
Synonym Searches will look for words with the same meaning as your search term.
Batch Searches allow you to search for multiple items in a single search.
Alerts can be set up to notify you by email when new data that meets your search criteria has been entered into a database.
How it works
Data Clarity Search uses an index search to rapidly find what you’re looking for. The original data isn’t moved, and you control the currency of the information by setting the frequency of the indexing. This ensures the data is always current! Data can easily be added to Data Clarity Search through the Enterprise Manager drag and drop interface. Simple SQL script is used to map the data.

The Importance of Sharing Data
“The prompt and widespread dissemination of data about ongoing research is one of the most efficient ways to alert scientists to the availability and comparative potential of new areas of research.”1
While this statement is obviously true, sharing of data is such a difficult task. Hours are spent trying to find information and sometimes recreating data that already exists but can’t be found.
